On Feb. 8, 2019, commemorating Black History Month, Desmon Duncan-Walker will perform classical jazz vocals from jazz greats, such as Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald at 7 p.m. at the Lincolnville Museum and Cultural Center. Duncan-Walker, who resides in Gainesville, Fla., has a varied career in performance that started at age 7. Her talents as an actress, vocalist, writer and director have garnered her awards, acclaim and numerous opportunities to work in professional theater, television, film and radio. She currently works with the City of Gainesville Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department and the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency as the museum coordinator. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
