St. Augustine Remembrance Ceremony

In honor of UNESCO International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition, we invite you to the St. Augustine Remembrance Ceremony to commemorate the two million African ancestors who perished during the transatlantic human trade route, known as the Middle Passage, and the ten million who survived to build the Americas.

Join us at 4:45 pm for African drumming and Native American smudging. The ceremony takes place on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the Gazebo in the Plaza de la Constitucion.
