From Election to Insurrection: The Black Enfranchisement Question

Our second installment of our virtual lecture series is here! Civil War to Civil Rights: A Lincolnville Saga will continue on February 17th, 2021 at 5:30 PM with a lecture led by LMCC Executive Director Regina Gayle Phillips. The series is titled From Election to Insurrection: The Black Enfranchisement Question, looking at the effects on voters and elected officials that led to a Civil War in the 1860’s and later a civil insurrection in 2020. The lecture will examine several examples of elections whose Electoral College votes were questioned. This event is part of the Resilience: Black Heritage in St. Augustine project.
